I presume that the title of this entry is derived from my answer where I said that generalization and abstraction are the lighthouse of mathematicians.
Let me be on the record, I do not agree that "generalization and abstraction" is synonymous with category theory. That is really taking my words out of context, and I want this to be absolutely clear.
Of course, it's a valid thought, but it's not a productive one, since it implies closedness. It implies that nothing else can help you generalize. And that, as we learn in mathematics time and time again, blatantly false.
